Bagels are the best! Unforunately for me in Switzerland we can only get plain ones or with sesame seeds. Bagels make for a great breakfast or lunch option as it is quick to make and depending on what you put inside, you can make it as protein packed as you want.
I will give you a combination of my favourite type of bagels.
Guacamole & Bacon
- Fry upsome bacon until it is very crispy
- Toast the bagel
- Spread some guacamole (I will give you the recipe to my classic guacamole soon) over the bagel and add the bacon
Scrambled Eggs & Smoked Salmon
- Toast your bagel
- Take some cream cheese (plain, with herbs etc) or butter and cover both sides of the bagel
- Take an egg and whisk it in a bowl and add a drop of milk, salt & pepper
- Add a tiny teaspoon of butter in a pan on a medium heat
- With a wooden spoon keep stirring until the egg is scrambled and cooked through
- Put the eggs on one side of the bagel
- Layer slices of smoked salmon on the other
Turkey & Cranberry
- Toast your bagel
- Take some cranberry jelly and cover both sides in a thin layer
